How we work
One mission
Establish a federal direct-cash policy that supports families from pregnancy through infancy — the most financially precarious window in a parent's life.
One field
The connective tissue for 90+ perinatal cash programs already operating across 26 states and D.C. — sharing data, language, and lessons so a scattered field moves with a single voice.
One moment
In less than five years, the U.S. has gone from zero perinatal cash programs to a national movement. Our job is to plug into the bipartisan window before it closes.
01
Leadership
A small team coordinates coalition strategy, member engagement, and the policy and research agenda — working alongside leads drawn from our member programs.
Purposeful engagement
We bring members into conversations where their perspective is most relevant — based on their location, the specific policy or research questions in front of us, and the goals of a given initiative. This keeps our advocacy and research grounded in real program experience, and ensures members are at the table on the issues that matter most to them — without being asked to weight in on everything.
Member-serving programming
Alongside targeted engagement, we host standing programming designed to support members who are administering programs and to facilitate knowledge sharing across the field:
01
A journal club to engage with emerging research together.
02
Research brainstorming sessions to shape research questions and surface field-level insights collaboratively.
03
Learning sessions that provide technical assistance and practical knowledge for program administration.
04
Annual conference to coordinate learnings and build the relationships needed for success.

If you design, administer, evaluate, or fund cash for families in the periods before and after birth, we'd like you at the table.
